NY Cocoa

More than 3,000,000 metric tons of cocoa, which has a wide variety of uses, are grown each year across the world. Key cocoa products are cocoa liquor, cocoa butter, cocoa cake and cocoa powder. The chocolate market is the largest user of cocoa, but products like cocoa butter can be used in a variety of non-food products such as soap and cosmetics.

Global cocoa production can reach over 3.5 million tons annually, with the largest amounts grown in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Indonesia.

Cocoa (Financial) futures are an outright cocoa futures contract between a buyer and a seller that industry participants, such as cocoa producers, food processors and beauty product manufacturers, can use to manage price risk.
